About Gold Forge & community rules

Last updated: 30 October 2026

A small, independent Git hosting service for people who want a place to build and share their projects.

1. Who is it for?

Gold Forge welcomes community members, hobby developers and small teams. You can host your own code, collaborate with others, track issues, write documentation and publish releases. Public and private repositories are available for free.

You do not need to contribute to GoldenNugget to join. Its mirror is one of the projects hosted here, alongside projects created by members. If GitHub already meets your needs, there is no need to move: you can try Gold Forge with a small project or use it as an additional remote.

2. What can I store?

Do not use the service for spam, phishing, malicious distribution, stolen or unlawfully shared material, or as a general-purpose file dump. Do not publish passwords, access tokens, private keys or other people's personal data without an appropriate basis. Private repositories are not a secrets vault.

For unusually large repositories or release files, ask in support first. Administrators may restrict abusive uploads or content that breaks these rules.

3. Limits & availability

Gold Forge is a young, independently operated project running on a modest community server. Fair-use limits keep the service stable and free while the project and its infrastructure grow. Projects with a genuine need for more space can ask for an exception in support.

Storage quotas are checked before an upload starts. A single upload may finish slightly above a quota, after which further storage-increasing operations are blocked until space is freed or an exception is granted.

4. Activation & help

  1. Create an account and choose a username.
  2. New accounts require manual approval by an administrator. Activation is not instant and no fixed response time is guaranteed.
  3. Join our Discord server and write in the #support text channel. Mention your Gold Forge username and ask for activation.

Use the same #support channel for questions, access problems, quota exceptions and bug reports. Include the page address, what you expected and what happened. Never post passwords, tokens, private keys or sensitive account details.

You can also report non-sensitive site issues in the support repository once you can sign in. These issues are public.
